Westchester County Exec. Astorino Calling For Action With Tappan Zee Bridge
WHITE PLAINS, NY (WCBS 880) -- Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino is calling for action with the Tappan Zee Bridge.
Astorino says it's time to move off the planning stage and into the construction stage and he's now calling on Governor Andrew Cuomo to make building a replacement bridge a top priority.
"The leaders and in this case, the governor, have to make a decision and move forward," said Astorino.

The estimated cost of replacing the bridge is about $9 billion and while Astorino acknowledges that New York is having financial problems, he says the state needs to find the money.
"This is huge. It's not just for Westchester and Rockland, this is for the state and it's really for the entire country," he said.
Astorino says replacing the aging bridge is about safety.
