Upper East Side Christmas Display Causing A Stir

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Christmas display has some residents on the Upper East Side up in arms.

The New York Post reports that lawyer Nick Wilder is suing his neighbor, socialite Lisa Maria Falcone, for setting up what he says is nonstop holiday music blaring from a display outside of his apartment building on East 67th Street.

"I like a Christmas song on Christmas Day. But I'm tired of hearing 'Jingle Bells' like 700 or 800 times a day,'' he tells the Post.

As 1010 WINS's Roger Stern reports, the music can start as early as 7 a.m.

One resident who applauds Wilder for taking action.

"To have somebody projecting the music into your home is not right," he said.

Brian, who lives down the block, says he has no problem with the display.

"I hear no noise," he said. "I passed here this morning. It's very soft."

Another woman who lives across the street says she feels lucky to have the display on the block.

Falcone has not commented on the criticism.
