Trump Says He Wouldn't Have Run For President If He Owned Buffalo Bills
WASHINGTON (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Donald Trump's flirtation with professional football lasted for three decades.
Trump, a native of Queens, never ended up with an NFL franchise despite repeated demonstrations of interest.
And he says that's probably for the best.
Had his 2014 bid for the Buffalo Bills had worked out, he probably wouldn't be running for president now.
He tells The Associated Press: "If I bought that team, I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing.''
Trump lost a bidding war with current Bills owner Terry Pegula, who purchased the team in Sepember 2014.
With less than two days to go until the New Hampshire primary, Trump wasn't taking anything for granted.
The GOP candidate held a large rally at a track and field facility at Plymouth University Sunday afternoon, with many seeing the politician for the first time.
"I liked him more leaving than when I walked into the door," one rally attendee told 1010 WINS' Steve Kastenbaum.
A large number of New Hampshire voters say they are still undecided, Kastenbaum reported.
