The New School Celebrates Grand Opening Of University Center In The Village
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The New School unveiled its new hub called University Center Thursday morning.
As 1010 WINS' Carol D'Auria reported, the building will provide classes from each of the school's disciplines, plus a cafeteria, a library and dormitories.

New School President David Van Zandt said after all these years, the campus has finally come together.
"We are integrating all of our programs down here. We moved our fashion program from Midtown, we're moving Mannes, our music school, down from the West Side," Van Zandt said.
Student Alison Phillips told D'Auria she agrees with Van Zandt and that's what makes the school special.
"People at Parsons get to collaborate with people at the jazz school and people at Mannes and I think it's really exciting that there's gonna be a space that will bring it together even more," Phillips said.
The University Center is located at 63 Fifth Ave. in the Village.
