The Blue Jays might be the favorites (or is that favourites, eh?) in the AL East. But don't tell them that.
I caught up with Blue Jays GM Alex Anthopolous Sunday in Dunedin, and even though he believes he made quality additions to his team in the offseason, he doesn't want to buy into the preseason hype and put the bull's eye on his team:

It is certainly hard to ignore that the Yankees didn't have a great offseason, and they have had a miserable spring so far. And Toronto had a great offseason for sure. But I am still somewhat amazed that people don't remember that the Yankees were 22 games better than the Blue Jays last season. 22!
Not to mention that since winning back-to-back World Series titles in 1992 and 1993, the Blue Jays have never finished with a better record than the Yankees. Not once.
That's not to say that Toronto hasn't made improvements and shouldn't be considered dangerous. But until they prove they can do it, they are a favorite only on paper. Sorry. I mean, favourite.
