9/18 CBS2 Sunday Afternoon Weather Headlines
By Matt DeLucia
CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer
Good afternoon, everyone! Certainly not a washout, but we are seeing some scattered showers moving through. Clouds will rule for the rest of today, and the shower chance will continue. Temps will top out in the low 80s with a muggy feel. The Giants game at MetLife Stadium should be fine, but expect some scattered showers at times.
Steadier rain is expected to move in during the overnight hours, especially as we approach dawn. It'll be a mild start to your Monday with temps in the low 70s for the city and 60s in the suburbs. Leave some extra time as it looks like a period of heavy rain will be moving through during the AM commute with even some rumbles of thunder. Showers continue into tomorrow evening, becoming more scattered as a very slow moving cold front passes. A general 1 to 2 inches are possible, and we could certainly use the rain!
Things clear out for the rest of the week, but temps will stay five to 10 degrees above normal for this time of year.
