Sterger Won't Sue If Favre Is Suspended
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (WFAN/AP) —Jenn Sterger's PR manager Phil Reese was on the Dan Patrick Show on Thursday to talk about the completion of the Brett Favre investigation.
Reese, said Thursday that his client would like the league to "implement a program" to prevent unwanted advances — similar to those she's alleging Favre made in 2008.
If the league does implement a program and suspends Favre, "Jenn would not pursue any litigation against Favre, against the Jets, against the NFL. Nothing. All she wants to do is clear her name. This is not about money," Reese said.
Reese also told Patrick, before the story broke on Deadspin, Favre's agent Bus Cook contacted him and asked how much money it would take for this to just go away. Reese and Sterger declined to take money and wanted the story to come out.
Sterger would like to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and is a little frustrated with the pace of the NFL investigation because they "have done everything to assist the investigation. We have gone above and beyond. We've been told the league is going to do the right thing," Reese said.
Favre has said this season will be his last. There are four regular-season games remaining. The Vikings (5-7) host the New York Giants this weekend, with Favre's status uncertain because of a sprained throwing shoulder. He has started 297 straight games, an all-time record.
