Shomrim Leader Charged With Raping 16-Year-Old Girl In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – The leader of a Jewish neighborhood watch group in Brooklyn is accused of raping a teenage girl.

Police said Jacob Daskal sexually abused a 16-year-old girl.

The 59-year-old runs the Shomrim's Brooklyn South Safety Patrol in Borough Park.

Investigators said the alleged abuse happened between August and November of last year.

Daskal has been charged with rape, forcible touching and sex abuse.
