Severed Animal Heads Found In Plastic Bag On Long Island
EAST NORTHPORT, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Two severed animal heads were found in Suffolk County on Tuesday, a discovery that anti-cruelty authorities called "deeply disturbing."
The Suffolk County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals received a call Tuesday about the decapitated animal heads. They were spotted in a plastic bag near the intersection of Elwood and Warner roads in East Northport, the SPCA said.
The heads were possibly those of goats or sheep, the SPCA said.
It marked the second time in less than a year that animal remains were found in the same general area, the SPCA said.
"We find this deeply disturbing," said Suffolk County SPCA Chief Roy Gross.
Anyone with information about the severed animal heads was asked to call the Suffolk County SPCA at (631) 382-7722.
