Revis Says Hammy Healing, Could Play Now

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -- Darrelle Revis wants to play. He hopes his balky left hamstring allows him.

The New York Jets cornerback said it's his "best bet" to wait until Sunday or Monday before deciding for sure whether he can play against Randy Moss and the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night. His hamstring certainly had him feeling optimistic Friday.

"I think I could play right now," Revis said. "There'd be no doubt."

Coach Rex Ryan said Revis hadn't told him that he's 100 percent yet, adding that the All-Pro cornerback will make the final call.

"As of right now," Revis said, "I'm preparing myself to battle against the Minnesota Vikings."

Revis said he has been running at full speed in practice the past two days and has felt no tweaks or ill effects. He injured the hamstring while covering Moss -- then with New England -- on a touchdown catch in the first half of New York's 28-14 win in Week 2. He hasn't played since.

Revis has said all along he would not play again until he felt completely healthy. He was limited in practice Thursday and Friday, and cautioned that things can change quickly with hamstring injuries.

"I can practice tomorrow, run full speed and it could pull up again," he said.

Defensive coordinator Mike Pettine said the team has prepared to play both with Revis and without, to make sure it is ready for either scenario.

Outside linebacker Calvin Pace in on track to make his regular-season debut after breaking his right foot during the preseason. He was close to returning last week, but needed an extra week of snaps in practice to make sure he was good to go.

"He looks good," Ryan said. "He really does. He's moving around great. Last week, I thought he was skipping a little bit, which meant that he never had confidence in his feet completely. I don't see that at all right now."

Pace was a full participant in practice on Thursday and Friday.

"Last week, I had a little hitch in my giddyup," Pace said. "Everything's coming along."

Pettine said Pace, the team's top pass rusher the past two seasons, will work in a rotation with Jason Taylor and Bryan Thomas.

Defensive end Shaun Ellis (left knee), center Nick Mangold (right shoulder), offensive lineman Wayne Hunter (right shin), right guard Brandon Moore (hamstring) and linebacker Jamaal Westerman (ankle) were limited. All are expected to play, except for Westerman.
