Sources: Nets' Blatche Questioned In Philadelphia Sex Assault Investigation

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A member of the Brooklyn Nets was pushed into the spotlight and questioned in connection with an alleged sexual assault in Philadelphia, police sources told CBS 2.

Center Andray Blatche wouldn't say much Tuesday about the alleged rape that occurred in a sixth-floor Four Seasons hotel suite Blatche had booked for two of his friends.  The team is in Philadelphia to play the 76ers on Tuesday night.

CBS Philly, citing sources, reported that a 21-year-old female filed a complaint alleging she was sexually assaulted around 4 a.m. Tuesday.

It was at the hotel where a police source told CBS 2's Sean Hennessey the alleged victim, a woman who was drunk, had sex with both of Blatche's buddies -- one at a time. That police source also said during the sex sessions, there were never any screams or pleas to stop.

"I was definitely not questioned. I had nothing to do with nothing," Blatche said before the game. "I don't even know to tell y'all what happened. I'm just here to play basketball."

However, police sources said the Nets player was questioned at Philadelphia's Special Victims Unit headquarters.

After police released him, Blatche tweeted "Im ok and I didn't do anything jus was n the area when it happened." The post was later deleted.

The Philadelphia Police source told CBS 2 the alleged rape happened after Blatche and a friend spent the night at A gentleman's club, leaving with two women and returning to the Four Seasons at about 2:30 a.m.

When they entered the suite, the alleged victim was already there, having sex with one of Blatche's friends. When that session ended, the source said she had sex with the other friend.

After that, police knocked on the door saying someone had reported a rape. The victim was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.

The Nets forward "will not be charged," Howard Beck of the New York Times reported via Twitter.

"From all accounts, (Blatche) was not personally involved in any kind of assault or anything like that," Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said, according to Beck.

"We are aware of the ongoing police investigation regarding a member of the Brooklyn Nets," general manager Billy King said in a statement earlier Tuesday. "We will have no further comment until the investigation has concluded."

A police spokeswoman confirmed to that an investigation into an incident at the Four Seasons was ongoing, but declined to provide additional details.

"The Philadelphia Police Department responded to a call to Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia early this morning (January 8)," the hotel said in a statement. "We are fully cooperating with the police investigation."

Sources told CBS 2 the investigation is ongoing.
