Putnam County's Leibell Won't Take Office
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Republican Vincent Leibell will not be taking office on Jan. 1 as the Putnam County Executive.
Sources tell WCBS 880 reporter Catherine Cioffi that Leibell is facing federal charges.

Leibell, who has been in public service for 28 years, resigned from the state Senate a month early.
Putnam County Legislator Vincent Tamagna said this is the county's darkest day, but he promised the people there will be a county excutive on Jan. 1.
The New York Daily News is reporting the FBI had subpoenaed records pertaining to a large home Leibell had built.
Calls to Liebell's office have not been returned.
