Police: Suspects Try, Fail To Rob Midtown Tourneau Store

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were on the hunt Friday for suspects who allegedly tried to steal goods from the Tourneau store on Madison Avenue in midtown Manhattan.

On Thursday afternoon, police said the suspects tried to break a display case with a hammer, but were unsuccessful and fled the store empty-handed.

The suspects fled in a 1992-1997 silver or white, Mercury Marquis or Grand Marquis, that has a black front bumper, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
