Police Seek Gunman Who Shot Livery Cab Driver In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police Sunday evening were seeking the robber who robbed and shot a livery cab driver in the South Bronx during the early morning hours.

Around 5:10 a.m. Sunday, at White Plains Road and Lafayette Avenue in the Soundview section of the Bronx, the suspect got in the livery cab and took out a handgun. He demanded money, police said.

Afterward, the suspect shot the cab driver three times and left the cab without any money, police said.

The cab driver was listed in stable condition Sunday evening.

The suspect was described as a black male in his 20s with a goatee. He was last seen wearing a tan bubble jacket and a dark hoodie with "Abercrombie" appearing on the front, police said.
