Police: Man Steals Tray Of Engagement Rings From Midtown Jewelry Store
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a man who they said stole a tray of engagement rings from a jewelry store in Midtown.
It happened back on Nov. 17 at the Aqua Master Jewelry store on West 47th Street.
Investigators said the man walked into the store and asked to see engagements rings that were on display in a window case.
When the employee went to get them, the man reached over the counter and grabbed a tray full of rings that were displayed in an open area, police said. He then fled the scene.
No one was injured in the incident.
The suspect was seen on the store's surveillance cameras.
Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic man in his 30s, about 6'1" tall, weighing 180 pounds with short sandy hair. He was last seen wearing a gray baseball cap, black jeans, black back pack, white sneakers and a black waist length jacket.
