Pettitte Meets With Trainers In KC

(AP) Left-hander Andy Pettitte rejoined the New York Yankees in Kansas City to meet with trainers after experiencing soreness during a simulated game on Friday.

Pettitte has been on the disabled list since July 19. Trying to come back from a strain in the left groin, he was bothered by soreness when he threw 50 pitches in a simulated game in Tampa.

Pettitte says he actually felt much better Saturday than he feared he might. He said he wanted team personnel to check him out before proceeding with his rehab.
