Officials: Inmate found unresponsive in cell at Rikers Island, later dies
NEW YORK -- An inmate at Rikers Island died early Sunday morning, marking the seventh death at the troubled jail complex this year.
Officials said Curtis Davis, 44, was found unresponsive in his cell at around 5 a.m. He was pronounced dead a half-hour later.
The medical examiner will now determine the cause of death.
