NJ Firefighter Arrested After Striking 5 Cars
SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J. (AP) -- Police said a northern New Jersey firefighter was driving drunk when he hit five parked vehicles within a matter of minutes.
Plainfield firefighter Michael Gillette faces multiple charges in two towns.
South Plainfield police told The Home News Tribune of East Brunswick the 48-year-old's SUV totaled three vehicles on Kenyon Avenue Tuesday.
Authorities said they later determined the firefighter had earlier hit two other vehicles in Plainfield.
Gillette was treated for a gash to the head.
Police said Gillette will face additional charges including careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident and operating a vehicle with no insurance.
