12/28 CBS2 Monday Morning Weather Headlines
By Mark McIntyre

It's a cold morning across the area with temps in the 20s and 30s, and winds making it feel like the teens and 20s. Bundle up if you have to head to work and keep the layers, 'cause temps will barely rise today. It will be 42 in NYC, but in the 30s for the suburbs.
Things get interesting as we "welcome" our first winter storm of the season with an icy mix changing to rain. Some spots in the northernmost suburbs could get a couple of inches of snow/sleet mix before the rain kicks in late Tuesday morning. Make sure that if you're out on the roads tonight or early Tuesday, take it slow and be careful. We'll be in the low 50s Tuesday through Thursday, and we'll keep the rain chance around as well.
An early look at your New Year's Eve forecast calls for temperatures in the upper 40s with drying conditions.
