5/31 CBS2 Sunday Afternoon Weather Headlines

Good afternoon!

Wet weather is on the way, which we definitely could use. Showers and thunderstorms will become more widespread as we go through the afternoon. Highs will top out around 82 in the city.

Showers and thunderstorms will continue this evening, although not everyone will see rain at the same time. Any storms that do move through could be on the strong side, with heavy downpours and gusty winds. Some flooding may occur in poor drainage areas, especially where storms occur. Expect another mild night, with overnight lows dipping into the mid 60s.

This unsettled weather continues into tomorrow, with more showers hanging around. Temps will be cooler, in the upper 60s and low 70s as the cold front moves just to our south. Tuesday wills see a slight improvement, but we'll still have some showers around, especially early in the day. We're looking at a general 1-3" of rain.

Wednesday is the day to look forward to, as mostly sunny skies return! Although we really do need the rain that's coming these next few days.
