"Most of our electricity comes from natural gas. There's plentiful of supply in the northeast right now. Prices have come down right now and we're going to be able to pass that decrease, because of the supply, on to customers," he told WCBS 880 reporter Sophia Hall on Friday.
Most people use natural gas to heat their homes and haven't been using it as much because of the mild weather. So, there is plenty of supply.
Hervey said he does not know how much the savings would be for the average customer.
The numbers won't be out until April 1.
"Obviously, we're going to try to return as much of that to the customers as quickly as we can and at the largest amount that we can," Hervey said.
