LI Man Killed In Head-On Crash

ROCKY POINT, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - A Long Island man has died in a collision with a tour bus, Suffolk County police announced early Sunday morning.

According to police, the driver of a 2007 Toyota Scion was driving along the Route 25A bypass in Rocky Point when he crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a 2008 Prevost Coach tour bus with no passengers aboard.

The crash happened around 7:40 p.m. on Saturday, police said.

The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld until his family is notified, police said.

The tour bus driver was taken to the hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

The Suffolk County Police Motor Carrier Unit performed a safety check on the tour bus and results are pending. The Toyota Scion was impounded for a safety check.
