Van Halen Follow Up Cafe Wha? Gig With Release Of New Single 'Tattoo'

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Van Halen is back.

David Lee Roth is fronting the band for the first time in years.

The group is following up their Cafe Wha? club gig last week with the release of their new single, "Tattoo."

It's the first song the band has released with David Lee Roth on vocals since two tracks on their Greatest Hits album released in 1996.

Original bassist Michael Anthony is no longer with the group, having been succeeded by Eddie Van Halen's son Wolfgang.

The band is set to release a new album entitled "A Different Kind Of Truth" on Feb. 7, and will then go on tour. It's the first album with Roth on vocals since "1984," which was released in that year.

Roth said the gig at Cafe Wha? made him "more nervous... than I ever would be in" Madison Square Garden. He also reminisced about the time he spent working as an EMT here in the Big Apple.

Check out their new single below, and tell us your reaction to it in our comments section.
