Jason Pierre-Paul Breaks Silence On Twitter

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Giants star Jason Pierre-Paul broke his silence on Twitter on Sunday, even poking fun at himself following the July 4 fireworks accident that cost him a finger.

The two-time Pro Bowl defensive end, who has not reported to training camp, posted on Twitter: "What happened to me was not a set back. God has greater plans for me. No man can judge me accepted God himself."

He then followed that up with: "My bad except lost a finger LOL."

Before Sunday, the only other time JPP had posted to Twitter since the accident was to wish his brother a happy birthday last week.

Pierre-Paul has yet to sign his $14.8 million franchise tender, so he is not under contract.

His right index finger was amputated four days after the accident.
