Good morning, and happy New Year! We certainly ended the year on a mild note, with all 31 days in December being above normal. In fact, December 2015 will go down as the warmest on record! While we're not talking about brutal cold, 2016 will be starting off with a chill over the next several days.
Expect a mix of sun and clouds today as temps climb into the low and mid 40s ... 45 in the city. We should be around 39 this time of year, so still above normal. With a strong NW flow, there could be a few flakes flying well N&W of the city.
The dry conditions prevail into the weekend, with temps a little cooler in the low 40s. There will be plenty of sun for both Saturday and Sunday. By Monday, some of the coldest air of the season will be moving in to start off the week. Mid to upper 30s for highs Monday and Tuesday, with overnight lows in the 20s (teens for the NW suburbs). Wow, below normal for once!
It's looking dry for now heading into next week. Check back soon!
