Giants' Antrel Rolle On WFAN: 'We Have To Win Out'

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- The Giants finally got off the schneid on Monday night, defeating the Vikings handily, 23-7.

It wasn't pretty at times, but Big Blue at last has its first victory of the season. It only took seven weeks...

The key now? Building off that elusive first win.

"One win is, without a doubt, one win," Giants safety Antrel Rolle told WFAN co-hosts Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts on Tuesday. "Does it help us out? Yeah. It gives us a bit of confidence, it gives us a great feeling (of) knowing that we are capable of going out here and winning. We are capable of going out here and playing with fun and playing with enthusiasm, and being dominant at times."

Many would argue that the Giants are as good as eliminated from playoff contention. Although they still have plenty -- and we mean plenty -- of work to do, they somehow find themselves only three games behind the Cowboys in the lowly NFC East.

But at this point in the season, it's just about maintaining momentum and winning more games.

"I think the pressure is on now more than ever," the two-time Pro Bowler told Joe & Evan. "In my eyes, we have to win out. That's the way I look at it. I'm sure that's the way our team looks at it. We have to win out. We dug a pretty big hole for ourselves, and we have to fight like hell to get out of it. Is the pressure off? Absolutely not ... We live and die for pressure. This is why we play the game."

The Giants will play the division-rival Eagles on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field. Amazingly, Philadelphia has lost nine straight games in its building.

The Eagles beat the Giants, 36-21, in the teams' first meeting at MetLife Stadium on October 6.

According to multiple reports, Michael Vick -- who has missed the last two games -- will start at quarterback for Philadelphia on Sunday.

"We're looking forward to it," the captain told the radio duo. "These are guys that we faced just a couple of weeks ago ... It's always going to be a hard-fought game, and it's a division rivalry. What more else do I need to say?"
