FAA May Change Flying Rules For Toddlers
NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- Federal aviation officials were considering changing the rules for kids traveling on planes, and that could mean a more costly vacation for families.
A new proposal would require children under 2-years-old to sit in their own seat with a child restraint device, rather than on their parent's laps.
Safety advocates said children are at a greater risk for injuries if they're not in their own seats.
The FAA resisted making this a requirement across the board, saying families may choose not to fly.
