NYPD Hunts Coney Island Rape Suspect

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The NYPD wants your help finding the suspect in a rape on Coney Island Sunday night.

The suspect followed the victim, a 20-year-old woman, into an elevator, police said. When she tried to exit at her floor, the man grabbed her from behind, pulled out a gun, and dragged her into a stairwell and raped her, according to authorities. He also stole her cash and keys, police said.

The suspect then ran away down the stairs.

He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket and a black & white cap.

The woman was rushed to Coney Island Hospital.
