NYPD: Man Chokes Woman On Brooklyn Street, Steals Purse
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is searching for a man who allegedly choked a woman before stealing her purse.
According to police, the suspect grabbed the 24-year-old woman from behind and choked her until she lost consciousness before taking her purse, which contained $200 dollars.
The incident occurred on Legion Street and Livonia Avenue in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn at 2 a.m. on Jan. 23.
The victim was not hospitalized for injuries, police said.
Police said the victim was last seen wearing a black coat with a green hooded sweatshirt underneath, blue jeans, white sneakers and black and white gloves.
