84-Year-Old Bronx Woman, Held Captive In Own Home, Makes Sandwich For Attacker
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An 84-year-old woman made her attacker a sandwich after he robbed her and held her captive in her Bronx apartment, the victim's son said.
The victim was followed into her Norwood apartment building after returning from church on Monday, authorities said.
When she tried to enter her apartment, police said the suspect grabbed her, stole at least $200 and held her at knifepoint for two and a half hours, CBS2 reported.
"When she put the key in the latch to open the door he just charged her, knocked her over and choked her and she started yelling," the victim's son, Thomas Carew, told CBS2. "When he finally was convinced there was no money left -- my mother exhausted everything -- she asked him if she could make him a sandwich."
After taking the sandwich, police said the suspect also took off with a bottle of liquor, CBS2 reported.
