With the Nets winning Game 4 of their series with the Hawks, the Mets prevailing late over the Marlins, the Yankees getting a win in the Bronx and the Islanders' season coming to an end, Jerry Recco's first update of the morning practically wrote itself.
Well, writing an update is one thing, but delivering it in the manner that Jerry does is something of a gift. This update began with the Nets, and that portion will be remembered for a postgame conversation that YES' Sarah Kustok had with the Nets' Brook Lopez, as the sideline reporter got a little excited when presented with the opportunity to interview the center following a thrilling overtime win. What the two talked about is really anyone's guess, although Craigie took a stab in trying to figure it out.
Additionally we got to hear Terry Collins speak glowingly about Daniel 'Murphalicious' Murphy and Craig imagined what it might sound like if the one and only Suzyn Waldman were to emcee an event attended by the aforementioned Kustok and Collins, among others.
Plus, scoreboards from both the NBA and NHL playoffs, J.R. Smith gets a two-game suspension and Kevin Love is likely to miss the Cavs' next series against either the Bulls or the Bucks...
