A new year has begun as New Yorkers continue sloshing through their everyday routine activities. After a day of work, shopping or just taking care of the kids and business, one welcomes a place to unwind and imbibe in some cocktails and food. Throughout the city, restaurant and bar doors open inviting conversation, meeting friends and making new friends at an aptly named happy hour, bringing in some joy and laughter to an otherwise mundane day. Looking to break up the hum drums of the ongoing day welcomes the warmth of festive happy hours at a variety of local New York City venues.

Beer is on the menu for a welcoming happy hour to fulfill all brew-seeking adults. The Blind Tiger is serious about beer stating, "Craft beer is our business." The establishment is stocked with a choice of hops for any discerning brew connoisseur. Check out the 28 rotating craft draughts, three cask ale selections and an extensive bottle selection. Not in the mood for beer? No worries because there are wine options too. Happy hour takes place every weekday beginning at 11:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. with $1 off draught beer, cask ale, wine, prosecco and mead. While there, enjoy Chef Tommy Harder's seasonal menu.

The famed Grand Central Oyster Bar & Restaurant features "Happy Hour at Oyster Bar" in the Saloon and Lounge. Monday through Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. welcomes all in for wonderful happy hour specials. Enjoy $6 wines, $8 martinis, $4 beers and appetizer specials along with the well known oysters at $1.25 each.

169 is all about having fun, enjoying life, music and other people. The Soul, Jazz, Funk Happy Hour takes place every day from noon until 7:30 p.m. featuring a $3 beer and shot, $1 off cans and drafts along with "$2 off everything else." On the happy hour menu are drafts, canned and bottled beer, "Kraft" canned beers along with other interesting beers and ciders. No worries if beer is not a favorite as wine and an interesting choice of liquor are also on the menu, or try one of 169's specialty cocktails. While enjoying a drink, have a bite from the full menu served from noon until 4 a.m. with late-night food choices as well.
