B&C Morning Show: Miserable Al, Sultry Dominique And Informative Jerry

Al Dukes was in quite a funk this morning as the callers were getting on his last nerve.

In today's show open, Boomer & Craig got caught-up in a conversation about the definition of the term 'atom-ball' or 'at 'em-ball' and apparently were not clear enough in their explanation which led to Al getting bombarded with calls on the subject.

The guys weren't sure Al was in the right state of mind to be screening calls this morning, so they suggested that maybe Dominique fill the role.  She gave a little taste of what she brings to the table and eventually we heard about her sore butt.

Speaking of pains in the a**, Jerry Recco was on hand to deliver his first update of the day and it began in a predictable manner, highlighting the Yankees' 10-1 win over the Tigers in Game 4 of their ALDS matchup in Detroit.

We heard from a subdued John Sterling calling Curtis Granderson's spectacular catch in the 1st inning that saved A.J. Burnett's bacon.  We also got to listen to Sterling interrupt his partner in the booth, Suzyn Waldman - who was busy yapping on in the Yanks' 6-run, 8th inning when Tigers reliever Al Alburquerque balked.

When the likable Brandon Inge's name came-up, Al tried to reinsert himself into the program, but was promptly instructed by Craig to shut up.  After that we heard post-game audio from 'the Captain' Derek Jeter, Burnett and Mark Teixeira, who Craig instructed to start hitting the ball.

The Texas Rangers got 3 home runs from Adrian Beltre and advanced past the Tampa Bay Rays into the ALCS, as they await the winner of the Tigers-Yanks series.

The Phillies (holla!!!) got a solid performance from Cole Hamels and a pinch-hit, 3-run home run off the bat of Ben Francisco to beat the Cardinals 3-2 and gain a 2-1 series advantage.  We heard from Phillies skipper Charlie Manuel, who insinuated that the decision to use Francisco in that spot was based on his ability to handle the hard stuff.

Then Boomer sounded-off on, what he perceives to be a case of negligence on the NFL's part as far protecting it's injured players...
