B&C Morning Show: Mets' Comedy Of Errors

Double your pleasure? The Colorado Rockies sure did yesterday by taking both ends of a doubleheader from the Mets at Citi Field, completing a 4-game sweep.

The loss was the Mets' 9th overall - 3 of them coming in a 24-hour period - and with each loss Craigie is inching closer to opening up his "Mets Fans for Yankees Church."  He went as far as to declare the Mets officially eliminated from postseason consideration after this dreadful 4-9 start.

Boomer generally tries to look at the glass as half-full when it comes to the Mets, especially considering it's only April, but even he had a tough time fighting Craig off, admitting that with the way the Mets are playing this year it's like a comedy of errors when they take the field.

Conversely, in the Bronx, those Yankees just keep finding ways to win.  Last night Phil Hughes was on the mound against the Orioles and his struggles continued. He allowed 5 runs in 4 1/3 innings and departed the game having put his team in a 5-0 hole.  The Yanks chipped away, lead by their All-Star 3rd baseman Alex Rodriguez, and eventually came all the way back to win it in 10th inning thanks to a sac-fly courtesy of Nick Swisher.  For the record it was a game-winning (not walk-off) sac-fly...

So with the Mets and the Yankees heading in opposite directions, the Rangers and Knicks in the thick of the playoffs and Boomer's 50th Birthday mere days away, the guys set up what is sure to be an eventful weekend...
