B&C Morning Show: Jerry Recco's Update Doesn't Disappoint
The Knicks didn't even play yesterday and still made the back page of the paper, so that should tell you all you need to know about what was going on in the world of sports. Nonetheless, Jerry Recco still managed to deliver an informative and entertaining update just before 6:30 a.m. because the man is that talented.
Jerry got things started with the news that the Yankees are said to be the verge of trading A.J. Burnett to the Pittsburgh Pirates, before documenting the Rangers' 3-2 win over the Washington Capitals yesterday afternoon at the Garden, where Ryan Callahan kept his goal scoring ways going in the 1st period. Afterward we heard from John Tortorella, who was very happy for Brandon Prust, who lit the lamp with the game-winner - his first goal in 48 games. The Rangers now lead the Bruins by 7 points for the conference lead.
The Islanders lost to the Panthers 4-1, so Howie Rose & Butch Goring spent some time discussing Boomer, who was preparing to take the ice after the Islanders game concluded for a charity event.
Moving right along to the NBA, which theses days is all about Jeremy Lin, who has played a large part in the Knicks' current 5-game winning streak. Mike D'Antoni talked abut his team's play and the minutes for new star Lin. Amar'e Stoudemire will return tomorrow night in Toronto, while Carmelo Anthony is set to return later in the week.
