Even with the Rangers' thrilling 4-3 overtime win over the Lightning, Jerry Recco elected to begin his first update of the morning by offering a preview of tonight's Lakers-Knicks game at the Garden.
Which makes sense considering so few people actually care about hockey - and also because Kobe Bryant only comes to New York once a year. Adding to the hype is the sudden emergence of Jeremy Lin and the Knicks current three-game winning-streak, making tonight's game at MSG a happening.
We heard from Mike D'Antoni about Kobe's visit to the Big Apple and Kobe himself on Jeremy Lin's sudden rise to stardom - a rise the Lakers guard was not aware of. As for the Nets, Deron Williams was named an All-Star reserve and Williams, along with his non-all-star teammates will be in Detroit to battle the Pistons.
