B&C Morning Show: Brownout In Tampa And Motorboatin' Across The World
The Yankees won their third straight on Monday night, beating the Rays 5-4 after Russell Martin drew a ninth-inning, bases-loaded walk -- but the win didn't come without some adversity.
A.J. Burnett had a shaky start, but the adversity I speak of occurred in the top of the fifth inning when there was a power outage at Tropicana Field. It lasted 18 minutes and made John Sterling's broadcast partner Suzyn Waldman a little uncomfortable. We also got to hear Joe Girardi, Curtis Granderson and Burnett following the game.
As for the Mets, they played a makeup game against the Marlins at Citi Field and lost 4-1. Jason Bay went 0-2 and is now 3 for his last 32 - but is hopeful that things will turn around - so there is that.
From there the crew had a lengthy discussion about 'motorboating' - which apparently that old sailor Al Dukes is a big fan of - while Boomer just doesn't get it.
