Baby Activity Seat Recalled Due To Impact Hazard

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A baby activity seat has been recalled after being blamed for at least 61 injuries.

Kids II has issued a voluntary recall of about 400,000 Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumper because the sun shaped toy attachment can snap back with force and injure the infant.

The company received reports that in addition to bruises and cuts, a 7-month-old sustained a skull fracture and an adult got a chipped tooth as a result of the faulty part.

The recall involves Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumpers with model number 90564. The model number can be found on a tag attached to the underside of the seat.

Only products made before Nov. 2011 are included in the recall, according to the company. All current inventory at retail stores is not subject to recall, the company said.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, consumers should stop using the activity jumper immediately and contact Kids II for a replacement toy attachment.

Kids II can be reached toll-free at (877) 325-7056 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or online at, by clicking on the Recall link at the bottom of the page for more information.
