9/19 CBS2 Saturday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia
CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good afternoon folks! After starting the day off with some pretty dense fog in many locations, we're seeing much better conditions now. Highs will warm up into the low to mid 80s with a good amount of sunshine. The humidity will be a little higher, but far from oppressive.

A cold front approaches later today and moves through overnight, but with a lack in moisture, we'll only see a spotty shower chance early tomorrow. Behind the front, expect partly cloudy skies for later on Sunday with a breezy high in the upper 70s. Overall, not a bad last weekend of summer!

Monday will feel very seasonable with a mix of sun and clouds. We've been watching a low pressure system off the southeast coast that has a slight chance of tropical or subtropical development in the coming days. The good news is the models have been trending drier, so we'll keep the midweek dry for now.

As for the papal visit, there is unfortunately some uncertainty as some models keep us high and dry, while others bring in a chance of rain. We'll have a much better idea as we get closer, so stay tuned. For now, enjoy the final days of summer... fall rolls in at 4:22 AM Wednesday morning!
