9/1 CBS2 Thursday Afternoon Weather Headlines

Leftover rain and showers will keep the area damp into this afternoon, but mainly south and east of the city. And outside of a leftover passing shower/storm, we should actually see more breaks of sun to the north and west. Highs today will fall nearly 10° short of yesterday at around 80°.

With the exception of a leftover early evening shower, we'll be on the road to recovery with more clearing expected. Temps will fall into the upper and mid 60's by daybreak.
Tomorrow's looking much better with mostly sunny skies and temps returning to around 80°. Also, it won't be as humid, so it will feel a little more comfortable out there.

Then, as we head into the holiday weekend, all eyes turn towards "Hermine". The latest projection has it approaching from our south on Saturday. Some rain will try to work its way into our southern counties, though it will need to overcome strong high pressure off to our north. Either way, it looks like our winds will be on the increase with odds of rain going up into the nighttime hours as well.
As for Sunday, it looks like the storm will continue to spin just offshore with the wettest and windiest conditions south and east; areas to the north and west would be less impacted.
Stay tuned to CBS 2 for the latest on Hermine and how it will impact your Labor Day weekend.
