8/12 CBS2 Wednesday Evening Weather Headlines

Good evening everyone,

Hope you've had a great day! It was just about picture perfect in the Tri-State over the last 12 hours. Todays high reached 85° in Central Park with a morning low of 71° -- just about normal according the the almanac.

It will be a mostly clear night as well, save a few showers diving down from a low-pressure system. A weak trough has sparked a few storms with some embedded lightning.

However, with the sun setting shortly, any diurnal activity with die down.

A warm-up is expected this weekend with another shot at a heat wave. Check back in shortly for an update.
