4/17 CBS2 Sunday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia
CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good afternoon! The sunny stretch continues as the Tri-State stays under the influence of a blocking high. We'll climb into the low 70s today with coastal locations hanging in the 60s. If you're headed out to Yankee Stadium, its going to be a beauty! Expect a first pitch temp around 67 with plenty of sunshine.

Temps won't drop off as much overnight, so no frost advisories like we had early this morning. We'll bottom out at 52 in the city, with the suburbs dipping into the 40s. Another mostly clear night for everyone, but grab the jacket if you'll be out late.

Temps jump even higher tomorrow as we head back to work and school. We'll reach the upper 70s in the city and some locations in central New Jersey will likely hit 80 degrees! Feeling more like early June with brilliant sunshine once again. A few clouds will sneak in from the north during the evening. With the exception of an early sprinkle Tuesday morning, there's no rain chance until the end of the week. Temps will be above normal, in the mid/upper 60s for midweek and then back into the 70s to end.

Be sure to check back in soon. Happy Sunday!
