2/16 CBS2 Tuesday Afternoon Weather Headlines

A heavier, steadier rain will fill will in this afternoon and last through the mid to late afternoon hours. That said, the start of the rush could be a little tricky with the possibility of some localized flooding on the roads. For the late afternoon hours, the focus of the heavier rain looks to be across Long Island with, again, localized flooding a possibility out there, as well.
Also worth mentioning, some minor coastal flooding is possible across Long Island for this afternoon's high tide due to a strong, persistent onshore wind. We're not expecting the flooding we saw last week at its peak, but do be on the lookout for flooded areas.
We'll cool down some tonight with 30s making a comeback; wake-up wind chills will be in the 20s for some. As for tomorrow afternoon, expect mixed skies with highs running about 10° cooler than today... mid 40s.
Thursday looks to be chilly with highs struggling to even get out of the 30s, but the good news is, we should see plenty of sun.
Check back for more on the rest of the week!
