The rest of your day is looking good out there with a mixture of sun and clouds. Highs will top out in the 50s for most today, reaching 57 in the city this afternoon. A northwest breeze will keep a chill in the air though. Believe it or not, today is the warmer half of the weekend as we're in for a taste of winter over the next couple of days.
It's looking pretty good for game one of the NL Championship tonight at Citi Field, but COLD... temps in the upper 40s for the first pitch, but it'll feel more like the upper 30s by those middle innings thanks to a chilly wind. Go Mets!
Temps drop into the mid 30s overnight in and around NYC, while some of the NW suburbs fall into the upper 20s! BRRRR! Freeze warnings are in effect for many of the suburbs, as we likely will see the end of the growing season. Be sure to protect those sensitive plants!
For Sunday, it's going to be downright chilly out there. Going with a high of 50 in the city, and that will likely be the warm spot. Most locations will struggle to get much higher than the mid and upper 40s, which is 15+ degrees below normal for this time of year! That breeze will continue, so you'll definitely need to bundle up when headed out.
Overnight Sunday into Monday morning is looking like the coldest... mid 20s possible in those far NW suburbs! Freeze Watches are up for the region once again. The good news is we rebound nicely through the week, hitting the upper 60s to 70 degrees once again by Wednesday!
