Out again

After a day of public pressure from angry fans and concerned sponsors, the Minnesota Vikings have reversed course and banned star running back Adrian Peterson from all team activities while he addresses child abuse charges in Texas. He reacted to the ban at 2:30 a.m. ET today, tweeting, "The pressure may be tough, but you will make it through." The head of the NFL Players Association told CBS News' James Brown that pro football is no longer just about a player's performance on the field.

Tough enough?

According to a new CBS News/New York Times poll, 57 percent of Americans don't think President Obama is being tough enough in dealing with ISIS militants, while just 31 percent think his approach is about right. Republicans are particularly critical of Mr. Obama on this score: 83 percent of Republicans don't think he is being tough enough.

Going ISIS

CBS News correspondent Holly Williams interviews a man who says he fought with ISIS. He tells her how he evolved from being a hairdresser to rebel to Islamic extremist.

VA under fire

As a House committee prepares to question the Veterans Affairs Department's acting inspector general about his report that concluded that long wait times did not contribute to the deaths of veterans, a whistleblower tells CBS News correspondent Wyatt Andrews that the conclusion was softened under pressure from agency officials.

Uber vets

Although national unemployment numbers for vets have improved lately, the rate for returning service members under the age of 25 is still higher than 20 percent - three times the national average. CBS News Correspondent Anna Werner reports the Uber car service hopes to change that with a new initiative, and it's enlisting top military brass to get the word out.

Benghazi committee

In a show of bipartisanship, today's hearing of the special select committee probing the attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi, Libya is slated to take a more forward-looking approach. Rather than focusing on who's to blame for the assault, which left four Americans dead, the panel will examine the implementation of recommendations for improving diplomatic security offered up by the independent body that investigated the attack.

Final frontier

With NASA's announcement that Boeing and Space X will launch crews from U.S. soil to the International Space Station orbiting Earth, CBS News Correspondent Ben Tracy traveled 65 miles out to sea to get a look at what NASA hopes will one day take crews to deep space, NASA's Orion spacecraft.

Paid to watch

Because Netflix can't afford to buy every Hollywood blockbuster, the company came up with a system to constantly feed its customers material they may want to watch. To make the system work, reports CBS News' Ben Tracy, they pay people to watch movies.

Splitting ale

In the lead-up to tomorrow's high-stakes referendum in Scotland, everything is political -- even drinking. At the Twa Dugs pub, you can order a "Yes" beer if you're for independence, or a "No" beer if you're against it. It's pub owner Bob Shields' private opinion poll. At the bar, the yes vote is ahead. But, CBS News Correspondent Mark Phillips reports, across Scotland, polls show the vote is too close to call.

Royal mystery

More than 500 years after Richard III became the last king of England to die in battle, researchers using modern forensic science have figured out which injuries likely caused his death.
