Madison protests

The police chief of Madison, Wisconsin is apologizing again for the deadly shooting by a white police officer of biracial teenager Tony Robinson, but he's not admitting any wrongdoing. CBS News correspondent Dean Reynolds reports hundreds of people gathered last night for another round of protests, and it wasn't the only sign of anger.

Oklahoma revelations

This morning, new revelations are fueling the outrage at the University of Oklahoma and beyond, reports CBS News correspondent Jericka Duncan. Some members of the school's Sigma Alpha Epislon fraternity face disciplinary action after a video surfaced Sunday showing members chanting a racist song containing the "n-word." But they may not have been only ones saying inappropriate thing in the fraternity house.

Key battles

Two key battles against the ISIS raged this morning in Iraq: one for the city of Tikrit and the other in nearby Kirkuk Province. As CBS News correspondent Holly Williams reports, U.S.-led airstrikes are only being used in one of those fights, and that could end up being decisive.

Recruiting Americans

The U.S. government is finding that, in addition to fighting ISIS on the ground, it must fend off the growing threat of ISIS online. The jihadist group has proven adept at outreach to teens who are fluent in digital communication. Last week, the FBI and Homeland Security Department issued a joint alert warning that ISIS's message is increasingly resonant with Western youth. But this message, some say, should be for parents and communities as well. Here's why.

Joe Biden 2016?

Hillary Clinton's silence on the private email account controversy has created a small political vacuum -- a vacuum, CBS News correspondent Major Garrett reports, that Democrats not sold on Clinton's inevitability have filled with speculation about other potential Democratic candidates, such as Vice President Joe Biden.

Cold case evidence

Detectives have been chasing leads in the Susan Berman murder investigation for years, and the case was never officially closed. But with the broadcast of the latest episode of "The Jinx," an HBO documentary series, the case is back in the headlines once again. CBS News "48 Hours" correspondent Erin Moriarty reports on some potential new evidence in the case.

Test drive

Apple's newly unveiled Apple Watch seems to have packed something for everyone into a couple of square inches. The powerful, elegant little device offers thousands of apps to help you connect to the world, communicate with your friends, track your health and control your smart home (not to mention tell time). But will it live up to the hype -- and the price tag?

Credit card debt

The U.S. economy may be strengthening, but by one measure Americans are flunking the basics of personal finance. Credit card debt is ballooning, leaving households with a net increase of $57.1 billion in new credit card debt in 2014. This could mean rough times are ahead for the recovery. Here is why.

American POW

This weekend marked the 50th anniversary of the fateful day the first U.S. troops went ashore in South Vietnam. But by then, U.S. aircraft had already been bombing North Vietnam for seven months, and downed American pilots had fallen into a hell that would last for the rest of the war. Flying off an aircraft carrier in the Tonkin Gulf, Everett Alvarez was shot down on the very first day U.S. jets bombed the North. CBS News Pentagon correspondent David Martin reports on what happened to Alvarez and other downed pilots.
