Police: Suspect In Fatal Hit-And–Run Turns Self In
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minneapolis police said a hit-and-run suspect who allegedly killed a 61-year-old bicyclist Saturday has turned him/herself in.
Sgt. William Palmer said the suspect turned him/herself in at City Hall at around 8 p.m. Palmer also said the truck involved in the incident is located in north Minneapolis and that the suspect's identity will be released later.
The Hit-And-Run
Saturday morning, just before 11 a.m., the suspect allegedly hit a bicyclist who was crossing the street at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and West River Parkway, police said.
The victim died at the Hennepin County Medical Center at approximately 2:30 p.m. His identity has not yet been released.
Police described the suspect's truck as a smaller brown pick-up truck with a homemade camouflage paint job, bearing the license number RXJ308. The truck is also described as having a red star on the back with "M16″ or "M18″ on the tailgate. The truck might have front-end damage.
