Norwood To Close Wis. Plant, Move Work To Minn.

JANESVILLE, Wis. (AP) -- A company that makes promotional products such as pens and mugs is shutting down its Janesville manufacturing plant and moving the work to its existing plant in Red Wing, Minn.

Norwood Promotional Products is part of Norwood & BIC Graphic North America, which is based in Clearwater, Fla. The move will eliminate 75 jobs in Janesville by April.

Company spokeswoman Margit Fawbush said Saturday the move will let the company streamline its processes and take advantage of excess capacity in Red Wing.

Norwood says employees who lose their jobs can apply for other open positions within the company, and those who don't remain will be given severance and job-search assistance.

The Janesville plant makes promotional products under the brand name Jaffa.
