Minor Flooding In Several Wisconsin Rivers
LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) -- The National Weather Service says there is minor flooding in several Wisconsin rivers.
Those include the Mississippi River at La Crosse, the Black River in Jackson, La Crosse and Trempealeau counties, the Rock River in Rock County and the Fox River in Green Lake, Waushara and Winnebago counties.
Meteorologist Ashley Sears says minor flooding is also expected in the Wisconsin River near Portage this weekend.
Two rounds of heavy rains Saturday and Sunday nights are expected to cause the rivers to rise.
There's also minor flooding of the Mississippi River at Lake City, Wabasha, and Winona in Minnesota.
Tom Stangeland, also with the weather service, says the rain combined with snow melt is expected to cause the Mississippi to peak next week, causing moderate flooding in those cities.
