Friday brings Twin Cities' coolest September day since 2022

Thursday's clipper has the Twin Cities locked into fall vibes on Friday, with breezy winds and chilly temperatures.

Afternoon highs likely stay in the 50s, making it the metro's coolest September day since 2022.

Clouds pick up in coverage a bit more later on Friday, but the sun will still peek through a little. A few spotty sprinkles can't be ruled out as well, but most of the day will be dry.

Clouds clear into Friday night as high pressure moves in just in time for the weekend. This will gradually bring more in the way of sunshine and allow temps to slowly rebound.

A stray shower is possible again Saturday afternoon. Expect lows in the 40s on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Highs will be in the low 60s Saturday and the mid 60s on Sunday, with skies turning mostly sunny by Sunday.

Aside from another shower chance Monday night through Tuesday morning, next week looks quiet with highs back in the 70s.
